In the military community, at least, USAA has traditionally been regarded as the finest vehicle insurance for veterans. The United Services Automobile Association (USAA) was founded in 1922 by 25 US Army officers who were having trouble acquiring insurance due to their status as a high-risk group at the time. The officers sought to form a group that would provide mutual self-insurance to its members, who had to be on active duty to qualify.
This quickly expanded to include both active duty and veteran service people, and the company evolved to become a Fortune 500 company. Over the years, USAA has allowed more military and veteran-related organizations to join. Still, one thing has remained constant: you must be involved with the military in some manner to join.
USAA wants to keep things in the family and does an excellent job of providing insurance to military personnel, veterans, and their families. They do their utmost to keep the club going even though membership isn’t exclusive.
Anyone who qualifies for USAA auto insurance should consider doing so. Request an estimate and then inquire about any available discounts. What’s wonderful about USAA is that you don’t have to ask for discounts; they just give them to you. At least, that’s how most people experience USAA.
